Georgia Karantze had a great shoot yesterday, scoring 95.3 and 97.3 to be top D Grader. The next best were Wiko du Toit 94.3, Rhys Mountain 93.1 and Inge Little 92.3. Hamish Guthrey was best in C Grade with 93.1 followed by Mark Riley 92.3 and Iain Mackay 92.2. In B Grade Callum Osborne top-scored with 98.5. Best in A Grade was Jess Fair with 98.6, and Meredith Ackrill shot 99.3 in Master Grade. In the 20-shot competition Beckz Gibbs recorded the highest score of 197.12 followed by Meredith Ackrill 196.13 and Dianne Grain 196.10.
Results from Round 1 of the closed champs competition have now been received. Ross Little leads the junior section with 97.5, closely followed by Jess Fair on 97.3. Dianne Grain is in 2nd position in the women’s section with 98.1, while Meredith Ackrill is 3rd on 97.5. Sarah May had a great start to her closed champs competition in D Grade, scoring 95.4 to be in 2nd place. Our top C Grade shooter is Mark Riley, currently in 5th position with 96.2. Summer O’Dwyer is doing best for Brooklyn in B Grade with 96.4 which places her 7th at this stage. A Grade is a real battle between Brooklyn shooters in the top five places – Evan Little leads with 98.3 closely followed by Dianne Grain on 98.1, and Meredith Ackrill is in 2nd place in Master Grade with 97.5.
The Interassociation Open Grade match was held on Wednesday. Only seven points separated all 12 shooters. Top Brooklyn shooter and second highest overall was Meredith Ackrill with 196.13. The team results were a little lower than in previous years. Full results will be available in September.
Six Brooklyn members travelled to Feilding for the Awahuri Open Champs last weekend. Congratulations to Evan Little on his 2nd placing in A Grade with 294.18, and also to Inge Little on shooting a new PB on her last card in this match – a very commendable 96.3.
WSRA Executive are developing a target marking course with the idea of creating a unified approach across all Wellington clubs. The course will take approximately two hours with WSRA certificates in marking presented to attendees. At this stage two dates have been set aside on the calendar: Friday 24 June at 7pm for senior members followed by an open course on Sunday 3 July at 9am. Further information on this will follow shortly.
Brooklyn will be hosting interclub on Sunday 19 June. The C Grade match (1x10) begins at 7.45pm, the B Grade match (1x10) at 8.15pm, and the Open Grade match (1x20) at 8.45pm. There will be squads for club shooting before, between and after the interclub squads. Teams will be named next Sunday.
