It was super quiet at the club this week with many members away at competitions and due to illness.

Secondary Schools competition

Alex, Eleanor, Eli, Filly, Georgina, Kaitlyn, Mikey and Zahra all participated in the local secondary schools teams competition at Petone range.  Well done to all in a very busy competition.  Congratulations especially to Alex for excellent shooting with an overall score of 190.8.

Club shooting

It was a great opportunity for Evan M and Ryan to get some focused coaching, with immediate results. Congratulations to Evan and Ryan for shooting a new PB, both 94.2.

It was good to see Marek back, keeping his shooting eye in as study commitments allow.

Congratulations  to Meredith, top shooter for the night with 100.9 and 198.12 in the 10-shot and 20-shot series respectively.

Senior members away next week - good luck to Bex, Mark and Meredith at the North-South competition next weekend. David and I are both away as well. Please support Evan, Ross, Stephen and Craig during Sunday’s sessions, especially by hanging/retrieving targets and with marking. Many thanks.

Target Marking Course Friday 21 August

Are you interested in learning how to mark cards and become certified?

Wellington Association is running a marking course on Friday 21 August at 7pm at the Royal Tiger Range.

No cost for members, and a modest $30 for non-members.

The session will last about 2 hours and consist of a presentation on "how to mark" and then a series of practical hands-on exercises where you will be marking shot cards with guidance from qualified markers. As part of the course is about practical marking, you will need to bring some unmarked targets - more details will follow for those who register.

After the completion of the course you will have a handout on marking and a practical marking booklet to record a certain number of "real" marked cards that will need to be signed off by a qualifier marker for your final certification.

If you would like to attend the course and learn how to mark cards correctly please email WSRA.Exec.Sec@gmail.com with your contact details.

Also please share the details with anyone else who might be interested.
