This week at the club Alex showed his consistency to get top spot in D grade with 2 x 95.1s, closely followed by Eli with a 95.0. C grade was again close between Finn and Jaz, with Finn coming out on top with 94.2. In the higher grades David shot 100.6, and Meredith managed top shot in the 20s with 199.14.

Rep matches

On Tuesday some of us shot in the Wellington vs Christchurch Juniors and Women matches and the Wellington vs Waikato D grade. For the Women Meredith was top of the Brooklyn shooters on 198.15, followed by Bex on 196.12. Rob shot in the D grade match, with Filly and Eli as emergencies. Top shot for them was Filly with 189.5. Filly, Eli and Alex shot in the Junior team - well done to Filly for her 96.1.

Brooklyn's 110th anniversary

This year is our 110th anniversary and to commemorate this we are hosting an open competition on Saturday 2 August. More details to come.

We are now taking orders for our 110th Anniversary fleece jackets. These are black with the club's logo on them and something noting it is for our 110th anniversary.

Cleaning the range

We're responsible for cleaning the range this month, so we'll take a break this Sunday for 20-30 minutes between squads 2 and 3 to clean the whole building - hall, kitchen, toilets and the range itself. We have some cleaning supplies at the range but we'd welcome any that you choose to bring - just make sure you can recognise your own gear at the end of it.

Target marking course

As I mentioned last week, Stephen will be running a target marking course on behalf of the Wellington Association on Tuesday 15 July at 7pm at the Royal Tiger range. This is the one way you can become certified to mark targets, and we recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to mark targets (parents included). Following the course you'll be required to mark a certain number of 10 and 20 shot matches under supervision, and once you've done that you'll be qualified. Let us know if you are keen and we will make sure you get some experience in the marking room before going to the course. Thanks for those who have already put their names forward.

BSA match

Nominations are now open for the BSA match. This is an open 12-person Wellington Provincial team which competes against other provinces across the British Empire.
