Apologies for the delay in sending the weekly update - it has been a busy week.

New member fittings

Thomas was fitted with jacket and sling on Sunday, and shot a couple of cards.  It will take a while to get used to your new setup, and there will no doubt be some adjustments over the coming weeks, but with perseverance you will get good results.

Great shooting in their second week in jacket and sling by Ryan (93.0) and Ethan (93.2 and 92.2).

Georgina, it’s your turn this weekend!  Remember to wear a long-sleeved top without a hood that you will wear under your shooting jacket.  It is important that we get the fit of the jacket right from the beginning - you should use the same top each week for consistency.  You don’t want bulk.  A long-sleeved t-short is good, a fine merino is perfect.

Excellent shooting

Congratulations for excellent club night shooting to:

  • Mikey and Zahra for great shooting with 95.3 and 94.1 respectively
  • Mark B on top-scoring for the evening in both the ten-shot and twenty shot series, with 100.6 and 198.11 respectively

On Thursday evening 22 Wellington Association members shot in the first round of the National Districts Championship (NDC) against Manawatu, including:

  • Bex, David, Evan, Inge, Meredith and Stephen in the open team (lost by one point to Manawatu)
  • Finn, Gerry, Jaz and Mark B in the composite team (won by 2 points against Manawatu)
  • Eli and Filly in the junior team, as emergencies (won by 34 points against Manawatu)
  • Congratulations to Filly for great shooting with 95.2 and 97.6, and to Wellington Association on winning this round

Busy start again this Sunday

Wellington shooters are participating in a competition against Hutt Valley and Horowhenua Associations on Sunday afternoon.  While this should be finished by 4pm, there will likely be a few folk still finishing up.

Please help out with setting up for our club when you arrive.

Membership Forms

Most members have now completed the TSNZ membership form.  We're hoping to tidy this up this weekend, so do come and see Inge or Meredith to complete the form on the club laptop in you have not yet done so.

When you are marking

For those who mark cards during our club sessions, please be aware that we are now recording scores on an electronic score sheet.  Bex and Mark have donated a tablet to the club for this purpose. Scores are also recorded on each squad sheet.
